Choose To Speak Your Truth

There are lots of people in our lives. Some of them are givens like our parents, siblings and extended families. Others are invited, like friends, spouses and our children. Still others are uninvited, but necessary. They are coworkers, bosses, clients, neighbors, grocery store clerks, doctors, etc.

Sometimes, even the people we love will be unkind, rude or authoritarian. Sometimes the people we love the most will try to silence us. They might even tell us that no one wants to hear what we have to say. They are wrong.

If you are speaking your truth, if you are trying to make sense of the world, but people disagree with your philosophy, so be it. If you're sure that you've figured something out, even if it's not popular, stay with it. Live it. See it through. Don't let anyone put negativity or obstacles in your path.

If someone is very angry and uncomfortable with the things you say, they can choose not to listen. You don't have to be quiet. It's your choice. Let people control you, or control yourself.

What will you choose today? Will you speak your truth and then live it. Will you allow someone else to control your thoughts and behavior? It's up to you.
